Hidden Power

Helping young people and organisations to equip the next generation.

We are starting an organisation called Hidden Power, which will operate internationally to serve, equip, and expand services and advocacy for youth.

A little background

Hidden Power was established by Andrew and Faith Dutton, drawing from decades of experience working with young people worldwide. Their journey includes aiding youth in detention, collaborating with families of at-risk youth, and partnering with schools, workplaces, and organizations that support vulnerable young people. Now residing in Brisbane, Australia, Andrew and Faith continue to back local and international initiatives focused on youth development and empowerment.

As part of the Youth With a Mission (YWAM) network, they train teams and organizations to better engage with and assist youth at risk—providing practical insight, lived experience, and hope in every environment they serve. YWAM operates in over 180 different countries.

However, Hidden Power is also deeply personal.

The name and mission are inspired by the life and legacy of their son, Michael, who passed away at 20. Michael’s life was marked by struggle—living on the streets, battling addiction, mental health issues, learning difficulties, and involvement with the justice system. Yet his life also embodied courage, resilience, and a profound desire to assist others on a similar journey.

Before his passing, Michael had started envisioning ways to use his story to support others. The brand Hidden Power emerged from this idea—a vision born from his pain but driven by hope.

Tragically, Michael passed away (October 2024) due to complications from medications prescribed for his mental health. His story, though heartbreaking, continues to influence lives through the mission of Hidden Power.

Through this work, Andrew and Faith continue Michael’s vision: to uncover the hidden power in every young person, regardless of their past.

Funds Needed to Launch

We are establishing the legal framework, resources, and initial training tools to equip leaders and workers in the sector. These funds will enable us to begin and lay the groundwork for the launch.
